You're there right next to me, and yet it almost feels as if there are miles filling the distance between us.

Coffee For Five is a very short interactive novel written and programmed in the span of 2 weeks for the Bare Bones Jam. Step into the shoes of the unnamed protagonist as they spend a few moments alone with a very close friend while waiting for your big order of coffee (and a shake) to be prepared. It is a standalone with 2,048 words and only one ending, but the story may be revisited in the future if given a chance.

I liked this story! It's short, cute, and wistful, and I feel that the emotions you wrote into the story came out well and clear. I could stand to learn from your style of writing quite a bit.

Also, I was surprised that you introduced the drinks in a different order than we recalled them! I distinctly remember the 2 iced vanilla lattes being last, but lo and behold, they were first when the waitress came!

Saw this just now, thank you so much!! My reply is long overdue, but your words have made my day. I've been worried for a while now that Coffee may not have landed the impact I wanted with how deeply rooted it is in personal experience, but I can say for sure though that working on it has made writing fun again! The setting especially is based on a place important to me, so a continuation of sorts with the same protagonist is definitely on the table.

Regarding the "minigame", your comment made me giggle as that was somewhat the reaction I wanted to get out of people. If you've played through it more than once, the drink the player is so supposed to try and recall is completely random! ( ̄y▽ ̄)╭
